Spiritual Awakening Signs

Are there any spiritual awakening signs? How will I be able to tell if I’m truly experiencing an expansion of consciousness or if I’m merely suffering from a case of self-satisfied self deception? It’s a sensible question. But before we get to the issue of the signs of spiritual awakening, let’s first clarify… what is spiritual awakening? Quite simply, spiritual awakening is the conscious expression of spiritual Truths applied to your life situations. For example, let’s say you’ve come to the realization that love is all powerful is a spiritual Truth. What you then do with this understanding determines whether this realization actually meets the conditions of a spiritual awakening. Do you simply tuck this understanding away in the back of your thoughts and carry on about your business with no change in your life outlook? Or perhaps you do allow this realization to promote a more optimistic inner perspective for you but you stop short of actually trying to practice this understanding in the world at large. Neither of these choices satisfies the requirements of a genuine spiritual awakening. Spiritual awakening calls for you to actually put your spiritual understandings into life action for to be awake means to be active. So what are the signs that you are actually having more success with applying spiritual Truths to your life circumstances? Are there any signs to spiritual awakening? To borrow a verse from Matthew (7:16), “You shall know them by their fruits.” Only these fruits will not be anything you can touch, they will be inward indicators. In spiritual awakening, you will simply know a greater sense of openness, of lasting peace of mind than you had known before. Things that used to crawl under your skin and stir you to anger, to worry or any other distress will have to be of greater intensity in order to produce the same effect in you. This is a sure indicator of your spiritual evolution; a very reliable sign of spiritual awakening.
