Thinking has its place........
Not thinking has its place as well........
Thinking can lead you to the door of Spiritual Truth........
Thinking can not open the door and go through.......
This is where 'Not Thinking' has its Power......
This is meditations true goal ........
"Listen without thinking"
It may take a year just to get the body to co-operate and sit still!
It may take two more years to get the mind to shut-up!
Few will give the time and effort to such a seemingly unrewarding task........
They will never know........
Because 'Knowing' needs an empty place to enter into.
Not a prideful, boastful knowing........
A simplicity of Truth.......
Which sets you free!

Yes.......
Be very very still and something will be heard......
Something very deep within begins to speak.....
Ekhart Tolle tells it far better than I in......
"Stillness Speaks"
I am a witness to its truth......
and if I can reach it ........
then so to can you!

Yes. I love how you write this. It is felt.
Stillness Speaks is a beautiful book. Sings!
When you say you are a witness to its truth, can you explain what you mean by this?

What is written in "Stillness Speaks" has been occurring on and off again for several years in my own consciousness. It started after ........ "A Messenger Once Told Me........." which is is an experience I wrote about somewhere in this forum.

Thank you, Sparrowhawk.
"witness to its truth". I really like that.
How about thoughts. Can you witness your thoughts?
You seem to often be in a rush. Pull up a chair!
You got company. *smiling*

"I am" the witness to thoughts..... I seem to pick up on others thoughts and emotions of others around me. I have not been trained to distinguish the difference and so it has lead to much confusion at times. Now I am beginning to train my self.
I had a funny experience today. I was walking in the woods when I recalled how I use to hear so many angry drivers thoughts but learned to tune them out! As I crossed a road I began to hear them and tuned them out immediately! I like the stillness I have found within my own consciousness, and momentarily was reminded of how far I have come. My head use to be filled with non-stop thoughts like the drivers who are on edge!
I am in no rush ......anymore. Just not many here......and I have a great deal to process from a years worth of new experiences. One needs to take a break or agitation sets back in.

Hi Sparrowhawk! I was happy to see you post. Thanks for sharing.
(I hope you don’t mind the conversational style of my response.)"I am" the witness to thoughts..... This is awesome. Same here.I seem to pick up on others thoughts and emotions of others around me. I have not been trained to distinguish the difference and so it has lead to much confusion at times. Now I am beginning to train my self. Good. How are you doing this?
I don’t have this issue. Are you aware of being in the inner body? It works as a ground- has a grounding effect. It would help in not picking up the thoughts and emotions of others around you.I had a funny experience today. I was walking in the woods when I recalled how I use to hear so many angry drivers thoughts but learned to tune them out! As I crossed a road I began to hear them and tuned them out immediately! Yeah buddy. I live in the woods and walk often. There is a rural highway nearby and I do like you do.I like the stillness I have found within my own consciousness, Ah. Same here. and momentarily was reminded of how far I have come. My head use to be filled with non-stop thoughts like the drivers who are on edge! Like wise.I am in no rush ......anymore. Nice.Just not many here......and I have a great deal to process from a years worth of new experiences. One needs to take a break or agitation sets back in. I’m here. And pretty much always on break. lol
I don’t pick up on others thoughts/emotions, but I do pick up on awareness. And there is much awareness in you. And I identified with your story too,
I also like how you give to others, your input and the list of books, great books.

Hi Sparrowhawk! I was happy to see you post. Thanks for sharing.
(I hope you don’t mind the conversational style of my response.)As long as my sometimes rambling style does not bother you ....lolI seem to pick up on others thoughts and emotions of others around me. I have not been trained to distinguish the difference and so it has lead to much confusion at times. Now I am beginning to train my self. Good. How are you doing this?
Well........good question! Careful observation, stepping back from reactivity, asking "where is this feeling coming from, me or another?", walking in nature and losing myself in the moment, then sitting in silence, answers simply appear. If the answers are from the right place I feel at ease. If the answers come from Ego .........there is defensiveness.
I don’t have this issue. Are you aware of being in the inner body? It works as a ground- has a grounding effect. It would help in not picking up the thoughts and emotions of others around you.I think I just answered that......hehe....I had a funny experience today. Me too, the universe said rest and gave me no healthy alternative!

We all do but they sound just like our own thoughts and only do we begin to Realize this when we speak openly through the heart. Then as time goes on we begin to Realize ........."Hey, you just said exactly what I was thinking!" The same happens with feelings. It is natural when we are younger but since it is not understood it is misunderstood and thus stamped out of us by well meaning parents, teachers, etc, etc..... "You Are The Answer by Michael Tamura" teaches this in a most profound manner. One of those very rare works which leaves your jaw open in awe as you read it. I think I went through several highlighters until I jokingly said "perhaps I should just dip the whole book in highlighter ink."

Okay.
But what is the benefit? Both of us know about stillness and silence- and that this is “the place to be”. So even if we pick up the thoughts and feelings of others, wouldn’t that just be more noise?
"You Are The Answer by Michael Tamura" teaches this in a most profound manner. One of those very rare works which leaves your jaw open in awe as you read it.
I hear that! I will look and see about this book. Maybe something on line. Coming from you, I am interested. (But to be honest, I don’t read books anymore.)
I think I went through several highlighters until I jokingly said "perhaps I should just dip the whole book in highlighter ink.
lol! (I also like your sense of humor.) This brought me back to when I would read great truth books, ink pen in hand, underlining all the parts that made me burst with joy. I wore ink on my fingers and hand. And too often I would find amazing sections that I even wanted to underline more, so I would. And then the stars and exclamation points! I just wanted to consume it. Like you, I should of just dipped the books in ink.
Do you know about the Sufi’s- Rumi and Hafiz? Their poetry is awesome!

The benefit comes in the added ability to aid others. Your connection to the "Isness of Being" is the same Source of all Life and thus connected to All Consciousness. I am stuck........so I say "Lord, speak through me for I do not know what is needed here." My center and your center are the same! One Life all attached to the same Source. When I drop my Ego consciousness by saying "I do not know", I(as Awareness) create space for this Source to answer into my very Being and thus it can be expressed to one who is not yet fully aware of the connection and all it means. Its like this : A friends car won't start. He does not know why but believes it is the alternator and will not accept your help which knows it is the battery. He goes inside to call the garage as you stay out and jump start the car. The car runs! If you fail to use the knowledge you have, the car does not run!

There is a time to put down the books. I remember going through that as well. I was reading "A Course In Miracles" when .....bamm, IT was back! There was no point to reading. The time was for Being! The Spirit fills you at such times with something far beyond books! No one wants this Spirit to leave.......and IT doesn't but it feels like it comes and goes. When it is present our consciousness is filled to overflowing and it seeks nothing. Then it moves out again and we expand our understanding through the understanding of others who have been there. The books return and we begin to grow. All efforts are rewarded. Then.......bamm, ITS BACK! We can feel it burst into our conscious waking states and IT is powerful. Each time IT returns our 'Peace Of Mind' deepens to levels we cannot even imagine! Healing comes with it, though pain can linger for some time yet. When IT returns more and more of Ego gets washed away and replaced by something greater. "Stillness" enters into the very writing itself, it enters into a kind of dance with all life. IT fills us and its very movement through our Awareness is a benefit to mind-body-spirit. We feel more alive than ever before. This state, in my experience, is proceeded by a test of heart. In the presence of justified anger and betrayal..........will he forgive even this?? When I pass and choose to forgive the deepest betrayals, it hurts like all hell. My heart feels like it has been stabbed with a dagger! Hard to explain this feeling.........you get it or you do not. I let the hurt sit there without judging the other and instead forgiving/letting it go and asking the Divine to heal ......the betrayer! I go to sleep and awaken ........ITS BACK! What is IT? A: The feeling of Being bathed in Divine Love. IT told me to write when I believed I had nothing to write. IT told me to help others when I thought I had no help to give. IT has been guiding me all my life when I thought I was alone. IT knows what I need when I fail to see. IT brings lessons into space and time. IT is the writer of anything True. I am a witness to its Living Presence and its Being.
